St. Nicholas Chapel

Kinsaley / Kinsealy, Co. Dublin Republic of Ireland

[Roman Catholic]

The chapel is thought to have been in use during the 16th to 17th centuries. The ruin consists of the nave, chancel arch, and the west gable with a double-arched bell-turret. Kinsaley means head of the brine, a reminder that at one time the sea came to the parish borders. Shells and other remnants of the sea can be found in the ground between Kinsaley and the coast.
