Gelebeç near Priene Turkey
[Greek Orthodox]
The former Greek Orthodox church was built in 1821 on the ruins of an earlier church. Following the population exchange in 1923 the church was used as a mosque, though the building was not modified. Gelebeç is near the old Roman city Priene, a place where Alexander the Great stayed. The tower, dome, and roof are in particular need of restoration. The church has suffered extensive damage as there are no protective measures in place.
