The church, organized in 1804, has had several buildings. This one was built in 1910 and incorporates material from the 1884 building. St. Nicholas is part of the Fairfax Lutheran Parish. St. Nicholas is the rural church, 8 miles east of Fairfax, and Trinity is the town church.
