Church Website

The Orthodox church stood on the site of a wooden St. Nicholas church dating from tne end of the 16th century. A masonry church replaced it in 1706, and the final neo-classical church was built from 1800-1807. By 1918 the complex included another church, dedicated to St. Barbara, the belfry, and a hostel for pilgrims who came because of the wonderworking icon of St. Nicholas (a copy of the St. Nicholas icon in the Novosilsky Monastery) The church was demolished in 1934, sparing the belfry and St. Barbara Church. The St. Nicholas belfry was listed in the registry of architectural landmarks in 1963. The chapel has been used by Ukrainian Uniates (Greek Catholics) since 1992.
