Built from 1762 to 1781, the church replaced a wooden one from 1619. The church was built by bell-ringers who rang the Kremlin church bells. The church was closed in 1933 and served as home to an architectural institute until it was reopened as a convent in 1994. It is has been the podvorye of Pukhtitsa Convent (Estonia) since 1994 The church is located on Rozhdestvenka Street.
