Built in 1902 as a chapel of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls, the building was a memorial to President William McKinley. St. Nicholas-on-the Hudson became an independent parish in 1982, adopting St. Nicholas as their patron and dedicated on St. Nicholas Day. It is the only church in New Hamburg.
