The Outdoor Chapel of the Transfiguration was built in 1909, nine years after Sunday School had been started here. In 1948 year around residents requested a permanent church. The St. Nicholas Church, a former train crewmen's dormitory, was purchased in 1958 and extensively remodeled. The first full-time priest came in 1957. The building was enlarged around 2000, increasing capacity to 120 persons. The church and grounds were sold in April 2019. The church was closed; the camp will continue as a Christian camp.
