The church was built in 1916 as a Greek-Catholic parish. It became affiliated with Ukrainian Orthodox Church of America in 1978 following a period as an independent church. Following fire damage in 1962, the interior was completely renewed. A new dome, front porch, and the mosaic of St. Nicholas, with other additions, were completed in 1984.
