Hinterthiersee, Tirol Austria
Roman CatholicThe church dates from before 1315. It is said that water from a spring under the altar provided great healing powers, especially during the 17th century plagues, known as the miracle of St. Nicholas. When the sacristan decided to sell the water, the healing properties were lost. The source was buried when the tower collapsed in 1849, filling the church with debris. The last renovation rediscovered the source, but the miracle is forgotten.
