Drakes Island, Devonshire England UK
[Roman Catholic]
The island in Plymouth Sound, originally known as St Michael's for the chapel built on it, became St Nicholas Island when the chapel was rededicated. In the late 1500s it was sometimes called Drake's Island after Sir Francis Drake whose home port was Plymouth. The St Nicholas name continued in use on maps through the 19th century. The island is now known as Drakes Island.
