Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania USA
Byzantine Catholic (Ruthenian)
A young church, services began in 1968 when the Divine Liturgy was celebrated once a month for two Byzantine Catholic families in the Pocono area. By 1971 services were offered three times a month. They began meeting in the Pocono Summit Community Center, a small building with no heat, water, nor restrooms. In 1981 the building was moved to newly purchased land and renovated. Mila Mina, of Galeta, California, covered the entire interior with icons telling the salvation story.
