St. Nicholai Church

A wooden church was built in 1398, followed by a stone one in 1495. After the 1672 Turkish invasion, the church was destroyed. Rebuilt and consecrated around 1767. After a time of religious upheaval at the end of the 18th century, St. Nicholas became Orthodox. The church fell into ruin, was again repaired and consecrted in 1894. Under Soviet rule the church was closed in 1962. Services resumed in 1990 and the church was rebuilt over the next seven years. The church has a Sunday School and offers free meals for the destitute on Sundays. It is the oldest church in Kamianets-Podilskyi.
