The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, was consecrated in 2002. It is to the left of the cross marking the old mine pit where the bodies of Tsar Niholas II and his family were hidden. The St. Nicholas icon was made at Athos and consecrated in Bari, Italy. The cross was first placed in 1991 and the monastery founded 2000. It has seven wooden churches so seven Divine Liturgies may be said simulaneously: one for each member of the royal family. This church has 17 domes, for 17 July, 1918, the day the family was killed.
