Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker

The original church was built by 1499 and rebuilt several times. This stone church was consecrated in 1888 as St. Nicholas and rebuilt in brick in 1910. The church was closed in 1938 and used as a community center. During the GErman occupation (1941-43) it was used for military purposes. The church was reconsecrated in 1943, stopped again when Soviet troops came in 1944 and the church wasn't registered. It opened again in 1945 and closed again in 1960. Vacant for a long time, it was later adapted for a community center. Returned to the diocese in 1991, it has been restored and is in use again as a church. In 2006 a new iconostas and wall paintings were made. The church has a reliquary with relics of St. Nicholas.
