Founded to minister to English-speaking expatriates, St. Nicholas joined with The Advent, a similar Lutheran expatriate congregation, to form Advent-St. Nicholas English Speaking Congregation. The building also serves a German-speaking and a Spanish-speaking Lutheran congregations. The congregation is primarily temporary and permanent English-speaking expatriates, but also has some English-speaking Educadorean nationals.
