Twenty families organized this Detroit Byzantine Catholic church in 1921. After meeting in other churches, property was purchased and a basement, initially used for services, was completed in 1923. The new church was dedicated in 1939. The parish moved to a former Methodist church in 1974, which was dedicated in 1976. In 2010 the church moved to the former St. Valerie Catholic Church in Clinton Township, north of Detroit.
