The Abbey of Isobas (Isova) is believed to have been a Benedictine Abbey, built by Catholic monks in the early 1200s. Byzantine troops burned the Abbey in 1263. The ruins are among the best-preserved Gothic ecclesiastical architecture in Greece. The large Gothic church of the Virgin is the more complete structure. The apse and part of the north wall are all that remains of the St. Nicholas Church. It is located in southern Greece on the Peloponnesos peninsula.
