The church is one of the oldest in Tallinn, believed to have been founded in the 11th century. The present building was built in 1827 and the iconostasis is reknown. There are more than 150 icons in the church, the oldest is the Savior (1686). The icon of St. Nicholas is from the beginning of the 18th century.
