[Timiseni, Farcasesti]
Bucharest Romania
Romanian Orthodox
The church was built in 1774 in the village of Timiseni, Farcasesti, in Gorj county. The icons and iconostasis were painted from 1770-73. The altar and nave icons were painted in 1856. The abandoned church was moved to the Muzeul National al Satului (National Village Museum) in Bucharest in 2002. This saved the church from destruction as the nearby coal pit and reservoir were being enlarged.
