This Mission Church was established in 1979 to provide an Episcopal congregation for the military personnel at nearby Castle Air Force Base. St. Luke's in Merced provided important resources to help the new church become established. Having lost its building to the break-away San Joaquin Anglican diocese, it is now meeting in the Atwater Holman Building. St. Nicholas is the Episcopal Church in Merced County.
