Church of Agios Nikolaos Kasnitzis

Kastoria Greece

Greek Orthodox

Kastoria had 75 Byzantine and medieval churches—54 have survived untouched. Agios Nikolaos Kasnitzis was built from 1170-80 by Bykzantine Kasnitzis magistrate. It is built of tile and limestone rocks; the rocks fill the spaces between rows of tiles. Many original frescos from the second half of the 12th century are present.
