Kyiv Ukraine
Roman Catholic
This large Polish Catholic Church was built from 1899–1909 using artificial granite, stone-like plasters, reinforced concrete, and ceramic facing tile. It was ruined in World War II and after 1945 used as an archival storehouse. After restoration in 1980 an organ was installed in place of the altar and it was used as a concert hall. After 1991 church services were held in the concert hall under the control of the city's culture department that still held concerts and festivals for organ and chamber music. St. Nicholas manna was brought from Bari in 2002 and enthroned in the church. Services are held daily; on Saturday Mass is offered in both Ukrainian and Polish. The church was to be transferred to the Roman Catholic Parish in 2024 following the "National House of Organ and Chamber Music of Ukraine" moving to the International Center of Culture and Arts of the Federation of Trade Unions, creating the House of Music. The parish has been working for 30 years for the return of the church and the court ordered its return in 2025.
