The Pererva monastery is the furthest south of Moscow's monasteries. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Miracle-Worker. The monastery is believed to date from the mid 1500s. The abbey was closed in the 1920s and the Nicholas church reopened for services in 1991.
