Savelki, Moscow City (Zelenograd) Russia
Russian Orthodox
The church was built in 1827 and is the only complex of buildings remaining from the village of Rzhavki. The village was demolished to construct the new Zelenograd which was to be the Russian Silicone Valley—the center of Soviet electronics, microelectronics and computer industry. It was built primarily on forested land, but did incorporate several older villages. Though it is 37 kiilometers from Moscow proper, Zelenograd is one of the regions under the Central Administrative District of Moscow.
