St. Nicholas Chapel

Kings Lynn, Norfolk England UK

[Church of England (Anglican)]

A daughter chapel of the parish church of St. Margaret in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, St Nicholas is the largest chapel in England. Though first built in the 12th century, most of the building now dates from the 15th century. It is said Daniel Defoe saw Robinson Crusoe's gravestone in the church, when visiting Kings Lynn, and later immortalized Crusoe in his famous book. The church was closed in 1992 and is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
