Church of St Nicholas of Myra

Ozleworth, Gloucestershire England UK

[Church of England (Anglican)]

The church sits alone in a large circular churchyard, as there is no village and the parish has always been very small. The Norman building is early 12th century with a nave added in the 1220s; it was altered and enlarged in 1873. The stairway to the musicians' gallery is fitted into the wall, weakening the structure. Most glass is 19th century Victorian, but there are four panels of 16th or 17th century Flemish painted glass and one medieval fragment with a saint's head. The church came under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust in 1981.
