The church was substantially rebuilt in 1909, though the lower part of the tower, belfry and apse are from the church built in 1653. The original church was destroyed in the Russo-Polish War, 1654-1667. From 1577 to 1588 it was a Calvinist parish until Jesuits sued and got the property returned. Soviets closed the church in 1961 and dismantled the organ; four crosses removed in 1982; and three bells sold for scrap in 1985. One bell was saved.
