Brac Island Croatia
Roman Catholic
The Sveti Nikola lighthouse was built in 1882 on the north side of Brac island, the 3rd largest on the Croatian coast. The light is built up from one corner of the lighthouse keeper's house. The light originally shone from a church tower; ruins of the church are near the present lighthouse, which still contains a small Saint Nicholas Chapel. The light is now solar powered and the lighthouse is automated and no longer manned. Located on the west side of a narrow bay, it is accessible by road.
