The church dates from the 15th century. It was the parish church until the new church of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice was built in 1957. The side chapel is the oldest part, built in the 1400s. It was enlarged in the early 1600s. The sacristy was added in the early 1800s. Fire damaged the church in 1905; restoration began in 1906.
