La Crosse, Wisconsin USA
Roman Catholic
St. Nicholas parish was founded in 1887 as there was a need for more Catholic churches for a growing population. A church and school were built that same year. These facilities were quickly outgrown and a new church and school were built in 1894. At that time the dedication was changed to Holy Trinity. A parishioner gave a statue of St. Nicholas soon after the original church was built; it is still in Holy Trinity Church.
