The original wooden church was built before the early 1600s. The new wooden church was built from 1898-1902. Cloased in the 1930s, the building was left empty and fell into ruin. Parishioners submitted eleven petition to have the church returned. A permit was given in 1948, but rescinded in 1949. The building was demolished in the 1960s.
