The church was consecrated in 2011. It replaced wooden curch built in 1879, becoming an independent parish in 1885. The church was closed in 1941 and used as a country club, with Soviet symbols painted over the iconography. The building was neglected in the 1990s and demolished in 2010. The new church is on the foundation of the old.
