The first Nikolaus church is thought to have been built in 1200; the tower dates from the 1480s. The church has been Evangelical Lutheran since 1579. It was in need of repair by 1560 and repaired in 1622. A new larger church was built in 1903. The exterior renovated in 1970 and the interior in 1982.
