St. Nikolaus Kirche

Göggingen Germany

Roman Catholic [Lutheran]

This church became fully established in the 15th century. In 1577, the time of the Reformation, the people in this area split half and half and Nicolauskirche became the church for both the Catholics and the Lutherans. This was a most unusual ecumenical situation which continued from 1577–1898 when the Lutherans built a new church. The church was renovated in 2007.
