Lakki, Leros Greece
Greek Orthodox - Ecumenical Patriarchate
The church was originally dedicated to St Francis, but is now dedicated to St. Nicholas. The architecture in Lakki is "razionalismo" or Art Deco from the 1930s. At that time the Dodecanese archipelago was occupied for 30 years by Italy, from 1912 until 1943, and the Italian influence shows in the architectural style. After World War II the islands were ceded to Greece.
