Church of St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker

Berezka Poland

[Ukrainian Greek Catholic]

The wooden church was built in 1783. Berezka was a large village with 1500 Ukrainian residents. During the expulsion nearly 250 died, along with the priest who was brutally murdered. The church stood empty for 30 years, only providing shelter for shepherds in rainy weather. In the 1980s it caught fire from the shepherds' bonfire and burned down.
