Agios Nikolaos Chapel
Monstery of Agios Nikolaos

Zogka, Argolis Greece

Greek Orthodox

The small church is built into a cave in the rock. A circular wall surrounds the church, possibly intended to protect the monks from attackers and robbers. The monastery dates from the latter period of Ottoman rule and was renovated in the early 1800s. The monastery has been abandoned, but liturgy was celebrated in 2011 after a thirty year gap. The church is usually closed.
