The garden was established in 1995, containing herbs and other plants used in 15th century medicine. It also has a Knot Garden based on an ancient Celtic design. The iron gates are made with an abstract sculpture of St Nicholas. Sharp eyes will find the figure, along with his three gold balls. He house was built in 1471 for the chaplain of nearby St Nicholas Hospital. As the house was supported by the lands of Provan, the canon in residence was called the Lord of Provan and the house became known as Provand's Lordship.
