Fontaine Saint-Nicolas

Plougasnou, Bretagne France

[Roman Catholic]

The ancient fountain was supplied water for the Germans during their occupation and building of the Atlantic Wall from 1941 to 1944. In the 1960s authorities built a pumping station over the well for Plougasnou's water supply. This caused the site to be redevloped and the stone fountain with the flat rocks for laundry were lost.
