St. Nicholas Cathedral—Pokvrovsky Convent

The convent was founded by Grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna Romanova in 1889. Construction of the monastery's St. Nicholas Cathedral began in 1896 and was completed fifteen years later. The convent was closed and partly destroyed in 1925. Reopened in 1841 after German occupation of Kyiv. From 1943-1945 it was used as a hospital, from 1945-1948 as an infirmary. The cathedral was restored from 2006-2010.
