The church possibly dates from 950 with a central tower that survived until the 15th century. The church was in a bad state by 1400 and there was a lot of rebuilding during the 1400s. The alters of chapels of Our Lady, St George, and St Nicholas were reconsecrated in 1418. Much was lost following the Reformation and the church was restored with the St Nicholas Chapel brought back to use in 1910. There is a St Nicholas window in the chapel.
