Nikolaus Kapelle

Dörflas / Schleiz Germany

Roman Catholic

The chapel is in Dörflas, a little hamlet within Schleiz. It was built in 1935 as part of Dörflas Manor. When land was appropriated in 1945 the chapel was given to the Crispendorf parish. The delapidated chapel was restored from 1998 to 1999 and reconsecrated to Saint Nicholas on Whit Monday 1999. The chapel is the smallest church in the district. In 2010 it was awarded the title “Smallest Church in Central Germany”. Monthly services are held, along with baptisms and other services, plus evening concerts on the new electronic organ.
