St. Nicholas Church

Worcester, Worcestershire England UK

[Church of England (Anglican)]

The oldest church in Worcester, stands on the high street and was rebuilt around 1750 in the Georgian period. The first Worcester Sunday School was at St. Nicholas in 1785, held in the church tower. It was closed in 1989 and now is occupied by a cafe-bar (the Slug & Lettuce). The crypt floor was dropped three feet, creating adequate height (now eight feet) to house the Citizens Advice Bureau.
