Church of England (Anglican)

Church Website

The church was consecrated in 1864, though the site has been used as a church since Saxon times. St Nicholas is believed to be one of two Sutton churches recorded in the Domesday Book, 1086. The stained glass is all Victorian; the windows on the north side were destroyed by a bomb blast during World War II. The piscina in the Lady chapel was found in the churchyard in the 1920s and is believed to have been part of the medieval church.
