Even though it looks Victorian, St Nicholas has early origins: 12th century Norman arches in the south arcade and the north arcade is likely 13th century. A clerestory was added in the 1400s. Medieval carving has been preserved and the church has been in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust since 1974.
