Church of St Nicholas

Swaby Wold Marsh, Lincolnshire England UK

Church of England (Anglican)

This church, at least the third on the site, was built in 1828. Oak pews replaced box pews in 1900 when the gallery was also taken out. Extensive repairs and improvements were carried out in the late 1960s—including enlarging the sanctuary when the communion rail from the Wesleyan Chapel at Whitpit was installed. The two churches joined together in 1966 when the chapel closed; a service in the Methodist tradition was held monthly until the mid 1990s. The church is one of five in the United Parish of Woldmarsh. Services rotate around the parish churches.
