Church of England (Anglican)
Normans built the church around 1120, using pebble rubble from the nearby river bed. It has an unusual central tower. Traces of color give evidence of medieval wall paintings to illustrate Bible stories for the illiterate congregation. In the early 14th century, before the black death later decimated the population, the church was enlarged, much as it is today, for the growing parish.
