Collegiate Church of St Nicholas

Wallingford, Berkshire England UK

[Church of England (Anglican)]

Wallingford Castle was established in the 11th century with a sixteen-strong college of priests within the castle. It was named St Nicholas College, also known as the Collegiate Church of St Nicholas. The castle itself was razed in the 17th century. The St Nicholas Collegiate Church tower and walls are the most prominent ruins today. A walled park established by the Borough Council contains the ruins and castle grounds.
