The parish, the second Greek Orthodox parish in Baltimore, was founded in 1952 to serve the Greek community in Highlandtown. The church began meeting in the Highlandtown Greek School building, that was gifted to the new parish by the Church of the Annunciation. This new church building was consecrated in 1956.
