Thought to date to the 13th century, the church was rebuilt in 1840. St Nicholas, Stillington, belongs to the Sheriff Hutton Benefice with Farlington, Marton, and Sheriff Hutton. Services are held weekly, with a joint family service with the Methodist Chapel on the 4th Sunday. A joint Benefice service is held on 5th Sundays. The women of the church and the Methodist Chapel hold Cream Teas every bank holiday Monday to raise funds for the two churches.
